JAPAN BEAT TAPES 02 - SHIRETOKO

Went for a mish out to this icy onsen town on the east coast of Hokkaido. Sampled the drift ice slowly grinding on the coastline and turned it into this Afro house idea.

The name Shiretoko comes from the indigenous Ainu word Sir-etok, which translates to "the end of the earth" or "the place where the earth protrudes."

It’s an ancient land possessed by a powerful winter spirit. Also happens to do a great burger.. 🍔
